Flying to Israel

13-Dec-2010

O'Hare, obscene cold morning
Arrived with not so much lead time...
Bought John Grisham's The Associate to keep up with my out-of-town tradition.
Newstand service slow, very slow.
Food/drink service, very slow. Where are the angry Newyorkers?
Newark. Pizza from an Italian American joint. Some guys speak like Michael Imperioli at The Sopranos.
Plane to Tel-Aviv feels like home. Everybody trying to get on the aircraft at the same time. Lots of conversations but nobody is obnoxiously loud.

In Israel
I'll be arriving,
In Israel
I've never been,
In Tel-Aviv
I'll be arriving
It is a place
where I've never been,
This could've happened
So many years ago,
But the things
it's about to happen now,
In Israel
I'll be arriving,
In Israel I've never been,
and somehow I've got that feeling
that that's the place where I should be.

Bound for Israel

Departing tomorrow from O'Hare
So much talking,
so much thinking,
about Israel
and now
I am finally going
In a few days names like Tel-Aviv, Haifa and Yerushalaim will be familiar to me in a much different way.
I could have gone so long ago but I haven't done it till now. That's reality.
